Why Are Kids So Sick?

Why are kids so sick? Researchers concerned about the rise in childhood illnesses and the growing costs to families, schools, and society are undertaking a $2.7 billion study, the largest study of children in U.S. history. It’s called the National Children’s Study (http://www.nationalchildrensstudy.gov), a two-decade-long effort that would track children from 100,000 families from the womb into adulthood, examining their genetic makeup, environment, eating habits, home situations, and health.
