Skin IQ?

Do you know what you are putting on your skin? Your skin has four jobs: to protect you, to regulate your temperature, to provide sensation, and to detoxify your body through evaporation. Briefly, about every 30 days (average) the top layer sloughs off. If the dead skin cells hang around too long, your skin won’t be able to do its job as well. The skin is your largest organ, and it needs to breathe; it needs oxygen, water, and the proper formulation of nutrients. The formulation should be pH correct. If you remember, pH is the “potential of hydrogen,” or the measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. Cells extract nutrients from the blood only when correct pH levels are maintained. Your skin has a pH of 5.5 to 6.5. Products need to be pH correct to the skin, meaning they are identical to the skin’s natural pH and so allow the skin to function at its best.
