Allergy sufferers, take this to heart:
You may be able to get pain-free options at an allergist near you, soon. Possibilities are: allergy tablets or drops under the tongue (called sublingual immunotherapy), and allergy patches applied to the skin. Both of these methods result in internal absorption without any injections.
The latter are in development for grass pollen and peanut allergies, and it is thought that a patch containing six weekly doses will be cheaper than weekly or monthly shots over several years.
