Protect Your Fall Garden

In some parts of the country it is possible to plant and enjoy a fall garden. Here are some tips for naturally repelling unwanted visitors to any garden:

Plant chives with tomatoes; the chives help keep aphids away.

If you plant strawberries, include some bush beans. They help keep beetles off the berries.

To protect your broccoli from cabbageworms, plant some dill, which will attract small wasps that then eat the cabbageworms.

For your roses, plant garlic nearby to keep aphids away.

Plant radishes near your spinach and their green tops will attract leafminers away from the spinach.
