Be an Agvocate

Unfortunately, these days U.S. farmers are likely to be seen as working against Americans. For a different point of view, go to the California Agricultural Communications Coalition, which gives farmers and ranchers a platform to tell their stories about agriculture, at www.knowacaliforniafarmer.com. Or read about people like Jeff Fowle, a fourth generation farmer and rancher who reaches nearly a million people a day through social media (he’s on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, but you can start out at his blog, http://commonsenseagriculture.com). Robert and Lynn Fleming of Bell County, Texas, chronicle life on their farm every day on Facebook.

~ With thanks to the Texas Farm Bureau, http://www.texasfarmbureau.org, for the above leads.
