Two brain research centers, one in Massachusetts and one in Texas, promise exciting work in the years ahead:
1. The Center for Brain Science, at Harvard University, recently announced a National Science Foundation award of $25 million to create a new Center for Brains, Minds and Machines, with a partnership between Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The new center will be located at MIT.
2. The Center for BrainHealth, part of The University of Texas at Dallas system, is located in downtown Dallas. Research concentrates on ways to make the brain healthier as we age. There is even a BrainHealth Institute for Athletes that addresses brain injuries and their relation to the aging athlete’s brain.
